Tchaikovsky Winners Gala

In November 2012 Fundación Sinfonía presented the first Tchaikovsky Winners Gala in the Main Hall of Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in  benefit of Fundación Amigos del Teatro Nacional.   The Tchaikovsky International Competition, one of the most emblematic world competitions, is celebrated every four years, since 1958 in Russia and includes five disciplines – piano, violin, cello, voice and since 1990 a contest for violin makers. 

The winners of the 2011 Competition participated in this magnificent concert:  Daniil Trifonov, piano, Gold Medal and Grand Prix played Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No. 1; Narek Hakhnazaryan, cello, Gold Medal played Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto and violinist Itamar Zorman played Jean Sibelius’ violin Concerto.  The Gala Orchestra was conducted by Maestro Ramón Tebar.
