2009 Santo Domingo Music Festival

The seventh edition of the Santo Domingo Music Festival was celebrated in the Main Hall of National Theater Eduardo Brito from March 4 to 14, 2009. Five night of the most exquisite music, always under the artistic direction of maestro Philippe Entremont, and one night of dance.

As always, the Festival Orchestra had musicians from orchestras from Europe and the United States., in addition to the musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra.

The 2009 Festival opened with a lyric night with famous Canadian tenor, Ben Heppner, accompanied by the Festival Orchestra conducted by vibrant Spanish orchestra conductor, Ramón Tebar. The following three nights were conducted by maestro Entremont, among them, the night dedicated to Beethoven, in which he had the double role of pianist and conductor.

The fifth night featured American dance group Doug Varone and Dancers and the festival closed with French mezzosoprano Sophie Koch.
