2001 Santo Domingo Music Festival

The third edition of the Santo Domingo Music Festival was presented from March 7 to 17 with eight concerts in the Main Hall of the National Theater, as always under the artistic direction of Maestro Philippe Entremont. Four of the concerts with the Festival Orchestra conducted by maestro Entremont and one with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Carlos Piantini, its Principal Conductor.

After this edition, the Festival, which had been previously dedicated only to symphonic and chamber music, was converted into multidisciplinary.

It was during this festival that the Santo Domingo Music Festival Superior Board was created, formed by the executives of the enterprises sponsoring the event.
