Philippe Entremont

The exceptional career of Philippe Entremont began at the age of eighteen when he came to international attention by having a great success in New York’s Carnegie Hall. Since then, he has pursued a top international career as a pianist, and for the last 30 years also on the podium

Philippe Entremont has conducted the most important symphony orchestras in Europe, Asia and America. He was Musical Conductor of the New Orleans Philharmonic and the Denver Symphony. He is also Principal Conductor of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Musical Conductor and Principal Conductor of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, of which he is now Laureate Conductor and Musical Conductor of the of the Israel Chamber Orchestra of which he is actually Laureate Conductor.

In the year 1997 Philippe Entremont founded the Santo Domingo Music Festival, of which he is Artistic Director. Since the year 2004 he is Principal Guest Conductor of the Munich Symphony Orchestra. He also occupies the position of Principal Guest Conductor of the Orquesta de Cadaqués.

His fame as director and he experience in working consistently in the development of the artistic potential of orchestras has led him to make numerous international tours, acting full house in various tours in the United States and Japan with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, an orient tour with the Orquesta de Cadaqués, a tour in Switzerland and Germany conducting the Strasbourg and various tours with the Munich Symphony in 
Spain, United States and England.

One of the most recorded artists of all times, Philippe Entremont has appeared on many labels, notably including CBS Sony, Teldec and Harmonia Mundi. He has garnered all of the leading prizes and awards in the industry: the Official of the French Legion of Honour, Official of the Merit Order, Commander of the Arts and Letters of Austria. He is President of the Bel’Art Foundation in Brussels and Director of the famous American Conservatory of Fontainebleau.
